Track and Field
Today is Super Bowl Sunday! One of the greatest days in sports ever. I like watching the Super Bowl the commercials are my favorite part; to tell you the truth. Today I am especially excited because the weather outside is nice enough to actually start running! I am going to run today! Today I am starting to train for the up coming track and field season! I am excited for track to come! I love to run; it is my life. With track coming, the school days will just start flying by just like they just last year. I love running, once track starts I will be in shape! I will achieve my goals for track this year with a lot of hard work and dedication any thing is possible! I love running track; the experience is amazing! You get to push your self, race against others, and make new friends that share the same passion. I love this sport and being able to run outside! This year for track I am going to run the 2 mile event. I ran it last year; my best time was 11minutes and 14 seconds not too bad for my first year run the 2mile. My last race I was trying to break this personal record. I ended up breaking my foot and not my personal record! I was on my last lap just about to kick and I was on pace to go sub 11minutes and then on the 3rd turn I was a dead sprint! I was going in hot to the finish! Then on the fourth turn i heard a popping noise and i was like on that's not good! I was at half speed that last 100m took me about 15seconds longer than it really should have! I finished with a time of 11minutes and 15 seconds. I was angry because i had two more events that i couldn't run and i didn't get my goal! This year is going to be different I know it will!

Alex, I love how both our posts start off with the super bowl and then move on to a better sport. I can't believe you ran 2 miles in 11 minutes! That is crazy. I can barely run one mile in ten minutes. I'm sorry you broke your foot last year and you didn't beat your personal record in the 2 mile, but I'm sure you'll beat it this year by a lot. Good luck in the upcoming season!
ReplyDeleteI know several kids who aren't going out for track this year because they hated it last year. It's sad, because they were good. They feel that our track program here sucks.
ReplyDeleteFrom my understanding..You love to run. That's awesome. Don't stop doing what you love. I agree with Megan and Shannon. 11 minutes is still really good for 2 miles so don't beat yourself up about it! If you can run the rest with a hurt foot just imagine what you could actually run. Not to mention you've been running for other sports as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I know you'll do great, just keep at it!
