Social networks

Social networks now seem to a huge part of our lives! Some people even put social networks in front of their homework and even in front of their school day. Like when you look back in recent post people from our school will have posted facebook statuses throughout the school day this is non-sense! I'm not sending any hate messages out, but some kids just need to get their act together! Honestly right now I can guarentee instead of people doing their homework they are procrastinating on facebook or any other social site such as twitter, friendster, myspace and any other ones i did not mention. I think our world has bowed down to social sites and lets them control what they do on a daily basis.I also think students rather have the immediate gratification of facebook than doing homework. Which in terms the homework prepare them for their future. I think another reason social sites can be ridiculous is because people think they can say whatever they want that they wouldn't even dare to say in person! That then causes a lot of drama which is stupid. Then other people get in on it because they think they can say whatever they want with out having consequences. Also facebook can be dangerous. If you don't have your privacy settings set right you could get track down by some creepo. I'm not saying it will happen but it could. I think the social sites they provide good and bad things. I like the experience of facebook you can talk to friends and have them comment on your stuff it doesn't sound to appealing but it is sometimes. I do encourage you to try out facebook if you have never tried it. Just be smart when it comes to facebook and immediate gratification. IN conclusion social websites can and will be evil at times.

Facebook

Today, I am going to blog about the social network Facebook. I think Facebook is a great social website, it is good for finding friends that you met doing what you do. I like the website personal I get on the website at least once a day. Today I have already done my fair share of being on Facebook. I think people over use this website, they get on to tell the world what they are doing every waking moment of their lives. Example Going to get a haircut. Personal when I update my status I will either put Song names and then the link to the song or like What happened at a sporting event like cross country, track, or basketball.Another thing I do post about is events that happened about my day if they are important enough for it to be my status. One thing I don't like about facebook is when you get on to just look around on other people's stuff you are considered creeping on them. I personal do not like that, it is labeling, it just makes everything worse. I like talking with my friends on facebook. I mainly get on facebook to catch up with friends that I haven't talked to in a while or friends that i don't ever see and I also get on facebook to make plans........ sometimes. I think the whole "creeping" issue on facebook is stupid. Facebook is for people to post photos, music, and statuses along with wall posts. If you don't want people to look at your stuff why did you get facebook in the first place. Facebook is a great way to "meet" new people and to find and catch up with old friends. I think it is ridiculous that some people have over 1,000 friends. I mean who actually know 1000 people and talks to all of them on a daily basis not me! Well Facebook is a great site and if you don't have you I would recommend you getting one!

Technology

Is new technology affecting people's attention spans? I think it is because people now a days are too lazy to read long articles and if they start one they are more than likely not to finish it. You no longer have to read articles to find information you can just get on the internet and type in what you need. After a couple clicks you have found what you needed. Also the Internet can connect you to people on sites, such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. Also before technology was so advanced people were actually doing their homework.  Now most people believe they have a choice between doing their homework and being on social sites and texting. Technology has affected many peoples life's. An example is people are no longer called the jocks and geeks. It is now the gamer and the texter. I believe Technology has impacted every ones' life and it is good in ways but in other ways it is making us lazy and could possibly eliminate jobs for us. Like on factory lines machines do some of the work if not all of  the work, when men used to do it. Technology also affects people priorities and attention spans'. Most people want to be successful in the future, but others would rather have the immediate gratification by doing nothing but click away on a social site or killing people on video games. Such as call of duty, grand theft auto and gears or war. I think people are dumb for putting social sites and video games before homework because the grades they achieve in high school affect  their futures and if they get into college or not. In conclusion Technology is affecting peoples' attention spans and how they are labeled in school. Technology is good depending on how you use it if you use it more than you should it can affect your future and attention spans.
